  1. ​ Erol Sayn  modern dictators are different so yea they would. I don't know if Erdogan is a dictator, but he might be sliding into authoritarianism and dictatorship. Modern dictators take over that way You're perception of how they work is out of date. They pretend or fabricate democracy. They start making rules to make it difficult. They don't ban all opposition. Just the ones that might actually win. Pretend at democracy, then use their power to engineer the result is the way of modern dictators.
