@washuneluvhada7616 some..meaning two or 3 dictatorships. Maybe Brazil's president who sounds confused. Why do Russians think the "global south" would support this imperialist war. This war where someone is trying to re-colonized or re conquer a territory trying to be free.

@Gerrard_Pike2008 the vast majority of experts conclude that Russia /ossetia was responsible. So why focus on one report. The difference is how much. They engineered it, they planned it, and they "provoked" it with attacks. It's described as a trap. The reason the Russian reaction is described as too much isn't because it was allowed to some extent but because it doesn't make sense compared to what Georgia did. It was the ossetian/Russian side that broke the ceasefire. Because they wanted to provoke Georgia. what the other comment said is also true. Georgia was dealing with itself. Which means Russia didn't have that excuse. Saying the war started by Georgia is inaccurate unless someone is saying that this action is what caused Russia to invade. But Georgia was responding to attacks first. "The shelling of Tskhinvali by the Georgian armed forces during the night of 7 to 8 August 2008 marked the beginning of the large-scale armed conflict in Georgia, yet it was only the culminating point of a long period of increasing tensions, provocations and incidents" In other words, the beginning of open conflict. Provocations and incidents here being attacks, and bombings of villages in Georgia. That report also says there were non peace keeping forces from Russia before Georgia did anything.
