@tliew3846 Taiwan is completely disconnected from China as a state. And has been since PRC became China.

@teoengchin "acknowledging the Chinese position" That's China's position, and the US acknowledges that china thinks that.

@pDdsqggcfg stop it with the BS hundreds of years that outs you as a china bot. Like saying Latin America belongs to Spain or the US to the UK. They had a war that split the country. Anything before that doesn't matter. Crimea voted to leave Russia and the USSR. Russia invaded and took over. Crimea was taken by force, by a foreign nation.

He can't be president of the US. he's using his fame and geopolitics to push his business deals.

@teoengchin Heh The US also "acknowledges" Taiwan's claims. Despite the incompatibility. And has independent agreements and commitments to it. Clearly treating it as a separate country. But the US wants to avoid a fight. So it says it doesn't want either side making a unilateral change. In other words, it doesn't recognize The prc's claim over Taiwan at all. It merely recognizes the existence of both sides claims.

@usbaidigitallife7985 What a non point..let's compare California doesn't see itself as separate from the US. And doesn't want to be. It's integrated with the US, and a part of it. The US gov hasn't been taken over and fled to California. Cali was once a part of Mexico but now it isn't and both countries acknowledge that. It wasn't the best of circumstances but it's the past. And has been part of the US government since then.

@muslimbigg1339 US supports neither side doing something that destabilizes and leads to a war. It's lip service to china. And not wanting to rock the boat.

@pDdsqggcfg what interests do you think any of us have? Cause it's none. Unlike the interest musk has, which are major businesses with China, where they might appreciate these ridiculous words.

@pDdsqggcfg china can't vote freely. And it would have to be Taiwan voting to join them.

@csuporj there's no question that Ukraine owns the donbas. There never was. Donbas have voted for it. The entire region has. That's different than the scenario in north and South Korea, or Taiwan and China.
