  1. ​ @dukhi_aatma372  democracy, always. For one, china didn't sacrifice democracy. It never had any. Then it tried to copy aspects of financial systems while still being repressive. And it even eased out of its repression before slowly reintroducing it. But that's like saying slavery is okay. Do we need freedom right now or economic development, "let's just enslave more people for awhile and maybe they'll give us freedom some day." For one thing you lose the ability to decide if you give up on democracy. There's no choice later between authoritarianism and democracy because after authoritarianism, you don't get a choice.
