@lloupez l I did live there and I don't get it. It wasn't made for people to live in. It was crammed with immigrants and the population in a haphazard way to begin with(during it's growth in the previous centuries). It just wasn't design to be lived in. that aside, they have improved. Their crime rates are low as hell for the population, and they're always ahead of policy's like their free university thing. And their social safety net. The U.S being so behind, and New york being so rich gives it a leg up. I know a girl that raves about nyc. She used to live there with me as kids before we both moved out. She still loves it. The food that isn't really from there, the cultural stuff like broadway, museums. There's people where I live that go to their nightclubs ect(even though they have a bunch of small as hell ones too). One positive is that there are a lot of small businesses there. And europeans might be more comfortable with having more public transport, and smaller supermarkets ect. That aside, I never found it special. If you just like to live a normal life, it's not anymore special than whatever city you have whatever attachment to.

People always talk up the NY subs. And I guess in terms of reach and cost they have a positive. But I'm glad someone finally talks about how ugly they are. And needing help is awful. And the last time I went, a line was closed for the whole day(which added hours and made it more confusing to navigate).
