@Naschira Genocide isn't about how successful the attempt is. It's about the goal. Trying to kill a specific group of people, erase a national identity, language ect. You have to want to destroy that nation/ethnicity, or the idea of it. I'm not calling it(I'll leave that to experts). But the idea that it's genocide is based on comments of how Putin and his regime talk and look at Ukraine and Ukranian identity. And in what context that puts the various war crimes in.

It's a lovely sentiment. Wish her the best. But those people, the anti people, have all the power of the state. And they've crushed dozens upon dozens of political opposition. It'll be an uphill battle. It's amazing she's willing to try it.

@AntonSobyanin because there's no black people in Russia. And little diversity outside of immediate eurasians that are part of the country. Perhaps it's because of all of our histories dealing with this racism that we understand the importance of having a voice. Of saying what needs to be said. Of criticizing governments, and policies.

@gandalfsanft1107 no cause that's not how NATO works. Maybe some people would be considered cowards, if they literally didn't defend their homeland, during an invasion. if it truly was a defensive war.

Maki that's a fair point about geography. A bit exaggerated. I just think the issue is that in the US, such drastic opinions would be more balanced on the political level. Pro Putin people say the craziest things. And then people who would oppose that kind of government are scared to talk, want to leave, or think it's hopeless.

@MeTechmind it is. But there's a diaspora in certain countries. So it's not as alien if you go to that. You can also start going to places first on vacation. Or for jobs, combined with an area that has Russians. Or if you like another language, people ECT. I mean he said he had no one in Russia either. But I do get it. It's tough to leave your surroundings, comfort and lifestyle. Of course for him, it might be live or death if there's more mobilization.

Maki I hope you get those reforms and government change. People are just saying we aren't trying to take your lands. Maybe you'd get more people appreciating it and tourism money if they stopped thinking of people outside of Russia as enemies.
