@qlfkafkafrq only 15% voted for Russia at the time. And before then there was almost no support for such a thing in politics.

@ИринаЛукьяненко-ь3ъ it was half the lowest ever in Ukraine. And less by almost 20% than the lowest ever recorded in Crimea before. Meaning a lot of voters were intimidated about voting. One could theorize people were scared to vote against the invaders. where the invaders would know and use it against them(like arrest them or kill them). Or generally scared that violence would break out between armies. And even then, half of the people that did turned up, voted against Russia.

@manchagojohnsonmanchago6367 2018 figures: 247,000 Russians have moved to Crimea since annexation. At the same time, about 140,000 people have left to Ukraine - Ukrainian officials, however, say the real numbers are much greater -- by hundreds of thousands. longtime Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Dzhemilev, Poroshenko's envoy for Crimean Tatar affairs, gave a shocking interview to Ukrinform in which he estimated the number of people migrating to Crimea from Russia at between 850,000 and 1 million. [Original population was around 2 million] "Forcibly shifting the demographic composition of an occupied territory is a war crime under the 1949 Geneva Conventions," Dzhemilev said. "Therefore information about how many people they have brought in is carefully guarded."

@nekosoup0401 Russia is ranked as more corrupt. 2008: MAP is the next step for Ukraine and Georgia on their direct way to membership. Today we make clear that we support these countries’ applications for MAP. Therefore we will now begin a period of intensive engagement with both at a high political level to address the questions still outstanding pertaining to their MAP applications. - A position that's been reiterated throughout the years.

@stasshipovskoy1765 Russia didn't feel sorry. Partly because they're psychopaths. It's a psychopathic government. But because they started that war in the first place. They wanted to destabilize the region. They sent agitators and organizers. Ukraine fought a foreign organized war. That's what caused the destruction. Just like Russia today. Let's say it was a civil war. That's still an internal issue. They weren't targeting anyone due to how they speak or whatever BS Russian propaganda says. And the Russian proxies didn't represent the people since they took over and it wasn't the civilian government that declared anything. This was not the people of the region deciding it. This was a small military group taking over those people.

@Korrus_ on both sides, soldiers fighting. And those terrorist/separatist bombed people too..including an airplane full of civilians.

After media brainwashing and some ethnic cleansing, it wouldn't give a clear answer.

@ЗабавнаяСобака-ч8й it's impossible not to be related to politics. Or the country oppressing minorities. Or free speech ECT. You don't think Russia did it on purpose? To build roads just to make you think that. Meanwhile they oppress those that complain. Kill opposition party leaders. Poison that melts their face. Unjust prison sentences. State controlled media ect. The history stands that they invaded you. Crimea did not have a referendum. Russia did, with a pre determined outcome. With a military occupation. I'm sure some don't care. But we don't know what Crimea would have really done or wanted to do. You're saying you don't hear it. Go ask it. Ask people from around that time and people that are anti government. And look up how many people have moved in and how many have fled. Who knows, maybe you're family is pro and that's just your circle. And maybe people don't talk about it in their daily lives. The apathy that Russia instills in people politically is a sort of hopelessness.
