@АлександрДухин-р3ц they've given citizenship to some people to exploit them and then take it away afterwards. And how they treat people in general counts.

@jaylooppworld381 that's a type of democracy so you aren't being very smart. Any Republic is a type of democracy. And I don't mean them having Republic in their name obviously.

@jaylooppworld381 here's why you're wrong. The flaws don't matter. The efficiency doesn't matter. Democracy is a human right. You have the right to not be oppressed. You have the right to elect who lords over you. Anything else is oppressive. It violates you as a human being. You can try to make a better democracy. Or a socialist democracy. Or a communist democracy. Democracy is the system of not being oppressed. It is the system of consent. So you can improve the corruption or the way you go about it, how the voting is done ect. But democracy isn't about anything other than you not being oppressed by consenting as to who rules.

@АлександрДухин-р3ц this is ridiculous. You deny every other country having a democracy because the US has a strong force. A dictatorship with that same force would have fewer people beholden to it. I come from a different country that fought for it's democracy and suffered a dictatorship. Why do democracies usually do much better at human rights ect? Because they can improve. Because the people suffer but they have the means to improve. Do you think, without external pressures, a dictatorship has the insentive to be more moral? Maybe it won't have the force to project. But I know what a dictatorship is willing to do in small countries. Dictatorships would leave that kind of power in a dictator or autocrat or warlord, with no means of change.

@leonix5083 the ccp has also made people starve by sending them to farm when they weren't farmers. Kept political prisoners imprisoned. Went after religious groups(Falun gong and Muslims). And probably many more I barely know or remember about. I get that's appealing to people that put the money numbers above human lives. But think about that being someone in your family's organs being harvested because they opposed the regime in some way. And now they have all the worst traits of capitalism with very little of the democracy

@МихаилПросянников-з3к nowhere in the world is a strong autocratic handed needed for long. And those monarchies are also democracies. I don't even understand the sentiment. That people can't decide on who they want leading them? Like do you think that little of yourself or your citizens. Like why was the tzar desposed... Instead of needing a revolution, in a democracy you can vote people out instead. The reason why you don't give a leader total power is in case he needs to be voted out. Often these leaders start out well but degrade over time and become more brutal to maintain power. The new generation of still brutal dictators are trying out a new tactic of sham(illiberal or managed) democracy. Where they control the state media, the means of election, and jail the opposition.

@swampy1234 An autocrat could be a single person for a long time. If you're British you probably know how the Brits didn't chose Churchill for peace time. An autocrats ideas can get rigid, or outdated ect. Or maybe they sucked from the beginning. They could surround themselves with yesmen. Or give power to the incompetent. Or just be cruel and petty and corrupt and you can't do anything. And there is a huge difference between regular politician shittiness and dictator shittiness.
