  1. depends, not always, not exactly. ethnicities are self claimed. A dark skinned hispanic might have as much mix of the same stuff as a lighter one. Plus what dark in this context means, and the context of the families. It could be brown, light brown, darker bronze. Or a mixed indian/native - african family. It'd depend which country they're from, their family, their family history ect. Then there's the difference between seeing yourself as a skin color and an ethnicity. So dark skin, ethnicity whatever else. As oppose to dark skin, black ethnicity.
