@monkeystank5241 It was the south and the confederacy. The Democratic party was part of the U.S and didn't exist in the confederacy. They still existed during the war, and were on both sides of the argument. You're being lazy.

@monkeystank5241 This isn't even a discussion about being a democrat or not. But why would you think that this would extend in perpetuity. As if Andrew Jackson and everyone from back then, currently existed and guides the party.
