  2.  @briant5685  that's not true. It wasn't about bases. Russia had a base in Cuba without any problems. Some intelligence base. Ukraine let Russia have a base in Ukraine and no one complained. The U.S didn't even say anything about putting a base there. Or any need for it. Edit: Russia's demands are mostly ridiculous. They want the donbas, they want a puppet in Ukraine or all the land, and they don't want Ukraine to make a sovereign decision to join NATO despite Russia's repeated invasions and hostility. How do any of them make sense for Ukraine? How do they make sense for anyone to agree with. They want to steal a huge chunk of Ukraine at best. And at worst they want to wipe them out as a distinct people, and country.
