Great video. I just one to nitpick one thing, and comment on another. I don't think YA fiction was about the apocalypse. But after, people are surviving just fine in them. And it's mostly about up heaving the current system. And it's not usually technology at fault(seems more social). It's a bad idea to portray escapist fantasy entertainment as signifying that people think the world will actually end. When the stories aren't even about the end of the world. Travelling through time or another alternate fantasy earth can accomplish the same. But I think people view this planet and the future as more realistic and of course, something that affects young people as oppose to the past. The other thing is about people now and whether they embrace the future or whatever. I think it's the same as the YA novels. I didn't grow up with them. But it's about taking control. Like you mentioned about the stagnated ideas and the end of history. It seems very passive. But like with the financial crisis, people are experiencing the result first hand. And we've been bringing up and brought up to care. So how can people be surprised when we see environmental problems and oppression and actually care. The frustration leads to a desire for action. I don't know if that counts as hope for the future. It might be. I don't think people are thinking in terms that grandiose. I think it comes from frustration and that desire it gives people to just get their hands on the problem and do something. Change something. Improve something.
