I agree. Its a reminder that some folks have to know what they are doing in order to get to completion. Politics (sry) these days are filled with folks that dont know what they are talking about and still keep their "high paying" supposed to be civil servant jobs. If the same requirements to know what they are doing was there also, many would rightfully be out of work, and things could go back to "could be better", but at least its not crazy. I see it the same way as you. Really, really good to see competence in action.

Yeah. Eventually we will have to ask him how many talents - welding especially - that he is proficient in. We now have to add forklift skills competitions to his list.

Yes. I forgot that the big machines that he works on were built of parts that braeak and need repair. I have only seen videos of teh making of them - modern marvels type shows. Forgot that they break and really surprised to find out that they dont always go tp the manuf. At times its independants with massive skill and ability and a huge workshop that fixes them. Props :)πππππ

...If you didnt have a milling machine and wanted to keep the same exacting tolerances of the parts you make, is there a second best way?

Thanks again: Mr Heavy Equipt Restoration, Refurbishing and Reengineering. Now I see a lil Heavy equipt operator also. I guess I was surprised as how easy you seem to be able to take over the cockpit of that grader. When reengineering is slow do you do some side work running a few Cats? Grading a few miles? Thx.

Another excellent show of what the word precision means. A hand turned and measured replica of an OEM hydrauliuc rod including performance additions to make it last longer. Just glad you thought to post this type of content as I said another time, here in america sometimes it seems that the constitutional leaders forgot how being precise works. I thought for a second that you had found time to make some yard art. Then I saw it was only the yard crane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quLt0wZn9sk keep up the excellent work.

I have a question. "Cutting Edge Engineering" is an very apt name. The thing is that all of the exceptional engineering you do is related to fixing something. This isnt a way to undermine your talents, its just that I cant with a clear conscience call you a "Heavy Equipment Mechanic". But thats some of what you do. What title do you go by that incorporates the "Edge Engineering" into fixing seriously heavy equiptment in one statement. Not downplaying the mechanic part of teh equation, but not many mechanics are able to reengineer manufacturers parts, making them better and the parts made better, came off the assembly line diectly from the foundry. What title do you like? Thanks for all of your posts. In these times, seeing someone that by necessity, owns a precision disipline is a needed break from all of the mistakes we see in out world. Politics included.

I was wondering how much scrap you recycle per month and if it makes a dent in your overall business costs. You must make enough scrap to feed a few of them "roos". Much better than turning in a few empty aluminum cans to recycle. More than a few cases of beer.
