It might be a game changer. Tariffs are a tax on its citizens. Singapore has decided to not get into the fight with Trump and make its citizens pay the price. They will keep exporting what they do, and Americans will pay more. If more countries followed, it would take the sting out of the tariff war as worldwide it would be seen as a "not well thought out decision" to tax Americas own citizens and call it a better deal.

One American voice here - More than 50% of Americans dont agree with what going on. There are substantial numbers that have formed groups that align with Mexico and Canada. Along the lines of "As an American we stand with Canada" or as an "American we stand with Mexico". There is a lot of disagreement because its not what was agreed to in the USMCA trade deal a few years ago. Its also not the way to negotiate with other countries its also not based on accurate data. There will be other reasons, I'm only one voice, but its wrong as its not aligned with today's need for international relationships to make-----"stuff". Considering Canada there has been over 100 years of a stable trade partnership. Its now trying to come back but as that's happening Canada is considering dropping America as a reliable trade partner. This illustrates the problem one person brought to the table.

Its not a suckup. Its a rational decision than to get in a fight where Singapore exports 30 billion to the USA and USA exports 28 billion to Singapore. As a smaller country, its will - just like in America - make their citizens pay more. Why get into a fight where there isnt a rational reason. Is it so you can say you played a part in a senseless trade war. Americans will pay more because it started out on a misunderstanding what a tariff was. Tariffs sound like its placed on a country as to how its said. But the actuality is that its an increase in export fees at the country's border on import. So a widget costs 100 bucks. With a tariff its now costs more to get that widget on the shelf. The country that a tariff was imposed on might not even know that it happened. Thats how much not really the countries problem it is. Makes no sense. And its supposed to be MakeAmericaGreatAgain.
