Wait a minute. In the previous case he was cleared of rape but convicted of sex assault. He said that he never met her, but a photo showed them together and him saying that she reminded her of his ex wife. He the defamed her by saying she was lying about him being with her - a now factual situation - and what the 83 million dollar case was about. I understand that in some jurisdictions what he did would be rape, but not in this case. Didn't the judge say that it was substantially rape but couldn't go there?

Nate. Quasi challenge. Do a story on how the word "woke" has devolved from being aware that the story we might have been told might not have been the truth, to everything suspected of conspiracy. How is an LGBT issue woke, for example. Since you are a lawyer and has used woke in different ways, you could get a story out that the word is becoming diluted as to its original meaning. You would then be woke about using the word woke. And possibly "wake" up some confused folks.

DEI, in and of itself does not lower standards. DEI is based on the historical issue of African Americans having a tougher time acquiring esteemed positions because white business owners wouldn't hire them based on skin color. Yes. Because most African Americans have in their family tree individuals raised on a slavery plantation and one of the tenents of that was to keep the slaves uneducated so they wouldn't be able to do anything else, generations later they are perfectly capable individuals that can perform at the necessary capacity. Sometimes it's the employer isn't looking for most capable, they are looking for their underrated expectation of what's out there True story: recently a black woman was fired because she was overeducated (smarter) than expected. Look it up. In general, DEI isn't supposed to drive down the standards, it's just supposed to make it less likely that African Americans will go on strike because some corporation won't hire blacks. A historical blemish on America's truth.

Issues like this is rarely an indictment in any particular party. It's the underlying character of the person involved. Not a partisan issue, it's just the particular person. Has anyone noticed that her actions are exactly like criminal gangs and a beef over their " turf". She saw a potential opponent in a legal forum and went after her like this is my turf, you better go away. A gang member just placed the icing on the cake.

@emeraldkaysgarden I never heard the "race hustler" POV. I did (im a new yorker) hear that penny held him in choke hold for 6 minutes. This is past the time where an assumed threat is supposed to be an issue. 5 minutes past. Since he was an ex marine he knew this. It was accidental but yet it happened. When the guys girlfriend got slapped, an actual assault and battery occurred. This escalated the incident into one where its "legal" to use deadly force to protect your family. You may want to ignore the differences and see it as race hustling but penny was actually allowed to walk away after giving his POV. It was only after more facts came in was he arrested 10 days later. Not race hustling and different situations.

He is not a lunatic. Reserve that title for some of the folks that show up on his show, or folks that deserve it. I have seen some of his expos'es and lots of times it's about stopping mistreatment against folks that look like us. Left? Likely. Since this is a democracy with two major parties, it is a necessary component for some to be right and some be left. They are co-opetitionists. In order for this democracy to work the left get some things that they want, the other get some of what they want. No lunacy required but sometimes the space lasers find a target.Its not supposed to be a team sport, but at times it's what some of us revert it too.

Agree with the many comments stating that the justice system went off the rails. Disagree with the idea that it was premeditated. Trespass is a real crime. Once they made a decision to trespass they knew that there was a chance the owner or someone we like be there and hope that it would not go as it did. A chance on a quick fix, but trouble could be there. I can't listen to the folks making excuses for the chance they took as if the homeowner made them trespass. Yes, kids do stupid things but protecting your property is the property owners right. Had he only fired to incapacitate I would have felt better, but we see stories many times where professional crime fighters empty all of there guns on someone holding a cell phone in their hands. What is a homeowner to think when he is confronted with s real personal property tresspass. Should he fire to eliminate the threat of just to stop the intruder? Possibly there could be a way, other than life in prison when a john doe finds himself protecting himself with lethal force brought to his situation not of his invite. The fact that it was a trespass should eliminate the possibility of life. The trespassers were a threat to the community and why life is sentenced. Life is given to remove potential threats to the community at large. The homeowner wasn't a threat to the community, just to trespassers trying to take from him.

Logically, how does a new proposition lower anything. It's only a way to get employers to understand that historically blacks and POC's didn't get the exact same opportunities as the white population majority for other reasons than ability. DEI is supposed to open doors that were closed during the 400 years or so that getting a job actually meant below your actual merit. A policy is just that. A way to affect change it doesn't make lower standards.

I haven't yet gone through the entire video but contrary to John and Jane does definition, racism isn't what this title states. Racism is when you base your actions and intentions on a person's skin color AND affect their ability to get a job and other social norms. Much else is just personal bias. White people don't like other white people for the same reasons that every other human chooses who to like and dislike. This isn't racism because their ability to get a job or other social norms isn't affected. Unless it's an ex who has friends in those places 😊 ... Now back to the video😊

It's a popular bigoted reaction. DEI, doesn't open doors to the unqualified. It open doors to the qualified. Historically totally qualified blacks have been overlooked or excluded from positions with the highest earning potential because of bigoted stereotyping that made erroneous understanding think that skin color correlated with intelligence. An unfortunate consequence derived from when blacks only worked on farms (understand the reference). Pre Jim Crowe years of under education meant that much in society felt that it was endemic to the people. It's not and as soon as education was more open could compete as well as other classes of folk. Some of that stereotyping is around today. DEI, doesn't lower standards, it's a fallacy supported by bigotry.

I have always felt that the easy to remember phrase " defund the police" was bad. The idea was to reallocate funds so calls like mental issues and other usual police calls that didnt really need someone trained to solve problems with a gun had formally funds allocated for police made available for folks trained in the non gun needed specialalities. Re-fund the police makes it seem like they are to get more money, but makes more sense that making it seem that no police would be hired in certain locations because they would be defunded. Reallocate, redivide,repartition,rehire non gun carrying police doesn't have the same easy to remember phrase but tries to get to a solution that deals with not every 911 call needs a gun to show up. Its what defund the police is about. Its nit about taking police off the streets.

@Ken-j2u slapping is a physical assault and since it was his girlfriend the chances of him just walking away is extremely slight. Guys have to protect theirs - its the neanderthal in most of us.

@FirstNameLastName-m3e Not sure what side you are on but my statement was that once his girlfriend was struck, the situation escalated from assault to assault and battery. This means he could now protect his Gf by the mean he had at hand. Had he never struck her, it would have been different.

Its tough in this climate as citizens are sometimes held to higher standards than "trained to understand the difference" peace officers. In addition to my previous post, the defamation was also about all of the things that trump posted on his social platform denying that he even knew her. Calling it a hoax even though he lost the previous case. IMHO, I'm a NY'r and knew about trump before even his apprentice tv show. It had been shown that he WILL NOT SAY HE LOST anything. Jan 6th and him holding the highest seat in givt proves that. He lost a civil rights case back in the 70s and if asked he would say he won that case. He had to reorganize his business and pay a fine, but to him he didn't lose. 83 million may be high, but his mouth got him there. If he had just taken it in the chin and not blab about him not knowing her, the 5 would have been it. He defamed her by making it seem that it was all made up including the part where his fingers went inside someone he never met

I seriously doubt that this will win over votes in the future. I don't have any ideas how to solve the problem, but first I want to know why over 10thousand folks per day are arriving at the border? Per day?!!? Answering what they are running from might start understanding how to limit the onrush. You don't solve problems by making it seem like you are forgetting chronic issues already here. After an actual assault and battery the legalities change. If the guy never slapped his gf, he would likely been in the same situation as penny minus the going home first to be arrested later. Penny was arrested 11 days after the incident after the facts came in. This is important. It seemed at first it may have been protecting himself from assault. But then it became manslaughter afterwards. IMHO, it wasnt because he was whyte. It was because in the other case his family member was actually hit/slapped/punched. There isnt a way to say excessive force that led to a persons manslaughter because the threat was proven. As much as some want to, assault many times leads to nothing done. For example everybody here calling some other poster/commentator an a*hole or make it seem like they want to hurt them with words: thats assault. Thus the difference in the two cases. How many of yall have said something that can be taken as assault? How many will change their words if they have a reply now that I pointed that out?

This is an embarrassing story. If actually true and this is the result of soros agenda, then its not thought out at all. As an African American, thIs is NOT what being "woke" is supposed to represent. Being woke, is supposed to represent waking up to the facts that what is being told and spoken about race and things connected to it, has institutional ties that may not be easily seen (imho). Its a way to challenge ways of thinking that can lead to better outcomes once the blinders are removed. Woke isn't supposed to support crime or other societal issues, other than the ones that "waking up" allows folks to see. The word has become mangled by its use for things not intentioned by its formulation. She - imho - isn't representing woke, she is representing finding new solutions to old issues absent of clear thinking. Don't blame being woke on this, blame a lack of clear understanding. I now have to find all of the places the term is being used and prepare myself for another word that will lose its intentions. BLM, comes to mind.

Real question - b4 I see the whole video, btw. What can any president do about people running away from countries that are dangerous of otherwise cant be expected to provide essential goods for their population. Migrants are trying to escape from intolerable situations. Its not like its a decision and option to make as if deciding on two similar situations. That said, I cant seem to find conclusive info on what these folks are running away from. I was beyond shocked - stupefied as to the actual number. Its 10,000 per day. Ten thousand per day! Its a issue that cant be totally be resolved by internal politics in america. The solution has to do with why so many. 300,000 folks per month trying to get away from something is another issue all together.

One of the reasons that he was expelled is that institutions of many kinds have a tough time acknowledging new information that changes their stance on a subject. Since he was presumptively guilty, once found innocent the ball had already started roilling and stopping it was too tough to do. At that point it was proverbially pulling teeth to change directions. I believe its also why "The justice system" has to be forced to admit that they charged a wrong person and only the innocence project gets them out. Its far too easy to not admit that the group was wrong so it takes these cases to set folks free. I believe the justice system is formed to only prosecute the guilty, right.

Its NOT DEI in action. Its what happens when a great idea - picketing throughout these days and before when white owned business had to be forced to hire blacks - gets treated by a blanket reasoning and media trying to make people forget that it came about because of a cause. DEI as intended is supposed to open doors that were previously not considering that 18 percent of the population formally were excluded from even 18 percent of the most lucrative jobs. Its been blamed for problems directly connected to not wanting the 18 percent to have this access. Never should an unqualified person get a job because of DEI. The problem is that qualified folks were denied jobs that sometimes went to lesser qualified other skin types. Thus an attempt to prevent this holdover from Jim Crowe. DEI isn't a problem. Effective use is a solution and please stop making a policy meant to open doors seem like one.

(Left leaning New Yorker here) It was more about being fair. It was also about that the not very well disclosed immigrant population is critical to may of Americas GDP, whether you like it or not. Getting rid of all immigrants for any circumstance is reckless and those with visas are only partially excluded. Nationalism - and blaming immigrants for any problem - is a far right way of becoming fascist and this is what this left leaning New Yorker didn't like about the gross (pi) way it was being presented. Illegal immigrants dont belong in any country illegally. Not taking responsibility for problems that some Americans are making them take the blame for is what it looks like. That's the intelligence quotient of the folks that think that the trucker is an immigrant that should be deported. Some are in more professional roles. Its that Americas problems aren't because of immigrants. Non Americans all look the same to deportation efforts. High rent wont go down. Eggs will stlil cost more. Price of groceries wont go down and the jobs that migrants and illegals did wont be filled by folks that complain that their jobs were threatened by them. Other American problems will still be here and some worse as the current president thinks that tariffing China means that China will take funds out of their banks and give to America. Nope. every immigrant in the history of americas 1700's, 1800's has heard this rhetoric about how they dint belong here. illegality is a somewhat false concern based on historical rhetoric. California leads the country in wild fires. Over the last decade on average 7500 per year each year. Wild fires in California goes back many millennia. Its a blame game when all of a sudden DEI or other political action was the cause back in the year 24. There was very few Californians in the year 24, so who started the fires? Gotta realize that the current warming conditions and near drought in places are a situation where one of the 7500 per year gets out of control. Man made reservoir's are what makes California habitable for most. Las Vegas wouldn't exist but for man made reservoir's. Its a tragedy that has no specific cause. Its ludicrous to think that a few folks are the blame for this one of over 7500 wild fires per year that California has. Im a New Yorker that likes to understand things before I repeat it. BTW, California is also #1 in GDP in America. Over 4 Trillion dollars. So, the gov should appreciate them more than the rhetoric that tries to make them look stupid.

Nah. It wasn't an accident. She was a high school junior so its something that immaturity will do when they feel they are going to lose. Unfortunate that there is someone in a top position that seems to not be able to handle losing fairly also. Should be dealt with as a immature act that she can learn from.

Grifter: Someone that cons folks into believing something that isnt true. Al Sharpton is NOT a grifter. I dont understand how anybody can think he wasn't exposing some of the stories that didn't get enough media attention as grifting. He didn't make anything up. He got noticed because the everyday media didnt give attention to some important - in the urban community - things so different issues could be solved. Grifting means that you are selling snake oil or as of some of todays conservatives, making it seem you care about conservative issues just because you know you can get an audience that way. Sharpton did none of these things, he only spoke about problems that actually happened. Sharpton is not a grifter and I remember him in that jumpsuit as a brooklynite.

You sound like you didn't research why it was introduced in the first place. Imagine congress placing a country wide policy without reason. Before you say, well I can, DEI was introduced for cause. Cause was to stop all of the picketing and protests by folks wanting good jobs but couldn't get hired because of bigotry=racist reasons. This is fact. It's not insulting to know that the country you live in has done things to stop bigotry and racist actions. These measures didn't happen in a vacuum. Happened to solve a problem that others didn't have.

What's wrong with being liberal? I'm not, but I lean Democrat, I don't understand why the folks behind this definition are doing something wrong.
