One of the reasons that he was expelled is that institutions of many kinds have a tough time acknowledging new information that changes their stance on a subject. Since he was presumptively guilty, once found innocent the ball had already started roilling and stopping it was too tough to do. At that point it was proverbially pulling teeth to change directions. I believe its also why "The justice system" has to be forced to admit that they charged a wrong person and only the innocence project gets them out. Its far too easy to not admit that the group was wrong so it takes these cases to set folks free. I believe the justice system is formed to only prosecute the guilty, right.
