What's racist about a surprising unexpected fact. A man that played a slave brought over against his will and for over thirty years had virtually every person to person interaction creating an interaction formulated by that character, surprised that his own ancestor might have had a part in his ship bringing him over. His great grandfather could have been the slave holder. Anybody would find it difficult to process at first interview.

@Peterpumpkineater-ry8on Positive that this is a waste of time because you have just displayed what when some folks have a truth pointed out to them they attack their personality or some other thing unrelated to the fact. I was just pointing out a rational reason to get upset like what made you get upset for your own rational reason.

When the system fails, at least there is compensatory damages received. When someone is killed by a mistake its manslaughter. You didn't try to do it, but society must have rules so folks dont just expect that saying its a mistake will get a person off for murder. Sry, but you are subject to being convicted of manslaughter. You are making it seem like its about cash. Its not. Its about correcting a wrong in the ways that are left. Im surprised that you dont see the value of a persons life when accidentally killed.

@Naadeneo ummm. You do know that roots was based on the book roots by Alex Haley that traced his family tree back to Africa? Correct Kunte Kinte was a real person and just like any biopic, the real characters are played by actors of the day. Not sure of your point. Its what actors do

IMHO he didn't freak out. A person that played a slave over 30 years ago found out that he was related to a person that had them. That's A situation that a person would expect to bring surprise and shock. Not easy to process is all that happened. For over 30 years interactions you had likely brought up that character, now you find out that you're related to a "massa". Effectively enslaved by a person on your family tree. Not easy to process especially for a person who acting history includes a man called "Kunte Kinte".

I dont know if this is a bot or not, but the way this was said got my reply. Question? How can you still say "peacefully" when windows were broken and folks were climbing through them. Senators and other gov officials - republicans also - holed up in some unknown bunker, listening to them chant "where are you Pelosi" and "Kill Mike Pence". MAGA will try to say that they were peaceful, but the incident was recorded on hundreds of cameras. Find them online and just say, revolting or some other word that isnt Peaceful. and Mike Pence was the Vice President at that time.

@FonikosGazmasR34 I guess I missed the part where he was trying to tell folks something about being racist. I just never heard him anywhere getting up on a soapbox - tellin my age - espousing any racist views. Anywhere! I know that folks may believe he did, but I havent seen him. I have followed him from roots to STNG and levar reads - and other tv appearances. Never heard him gathering troops to be another "ism". Raceism, fatshaming, genderism or the other bigoted and "ist" ways that some folks that fly confederate flags might be thought to being so. I am not saying that flying a confederate flag says that a person is racist. Im saying that in a group of folks, all flying confederate flags, there will be a few that think that slavery was just a way to provide room and board - clothes also - to some black folks. I just dont see this as karma correcting a narrative that was negative and socially inaccurate - wrong. Its just a suprise that a black man that played a man on someones plantation - born in germayn BTW, found out that there is more to the connection than just playing kunte kinte. Did I misunderstand what you meant by karma?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, a sworn Republican and former governor of California, has come out and said he is backing Harris. Ok so what? Arnold's father was a NAZI. Not a made up, somebody saying they are a NAZI in 2024 America. Served under Adolf Hitler back in WW2. An actual NAZI. He has disowned his father and has said, like a lot of folks that Trump is acting like a fascist like "he" understands fascism like not many other people on earth do. Gives a lot of credence to all of those that are calling Trump actions fascist. U likely dont care but that is a sign of someone being a fascist if he changes parties to vote against Trump. Ok, thats enough.........but.........IVANKA TRUMP IS VOTING FOR HARRIS. I bet you wont call Ivanka ignorant or stupid in front of trump.

@rizeye0014 No! Im against any kings like SCOTUS is trying to make Trump. I grew up where "if you do the crime, you do the time" Red, Blue, yellow, none, bald, socks , no socks, bandana or a scarf. When any criminal gets away with it, they tend to try it again. America is complicit with how trump is today, way too many chances to stop it.

As you said, AOC was telling truth. That's not embarrassing herself. IMHO, its a strange situation when AIPAC can be seen influencing votes that have a far right slant when NAZI Germany so Hitler was a far right leader and political party. BlackConservativePerspertive-1 AOC pointed out that, as did many other sources that AIPAC threw many dollars with latimar to defeat Bowman. It's common knowledge. So in truth it's what happened. I'm looking into how AIPAC became far right. It doesn't make sense but it looks to be true. Update if I can.

Just dont call them "Race Hustlers". In society for many years race has been an issue. In 1979 Richard Pryor had a skit about how when being pulled over by police, he yelled "I AM REACHING IN MY POCKET FOR MY LICENSE, so he wouldn't be "accidentally" shot. It places a humorous reference point on how society is many times distance when it came to police violence. The Rodney king case told how a jury of peers thought every cop was innocent of excessive force when it came to arresting king. Now, some 45 years later a "CIVILIAN" took someone life because of a mistake. When someone is killed by a mistake its manslaughter.
