One MAJOR reason for the concession to the republican party for a few black folk today is the ongoing malformed information about the Republican that freed the slaves. Yes! president Lincoln freed the slaves. Yes! Lincoln was a republican. No! The republican party of that day IS NOT THE SAME PARTY TODAY. The Republican party of yesteryear were LEFT leaning. The Party today is right leaning, and their Far right component includes the KKK and Christian nationalists who - as expected follow supremacists ideals. The republican party leans right The Democratic party Leans Left. Left leaning politics has been the "ONLY" party that has consistently worked to make America civil for all. The Right has continually tried to make it tough for America to treat all of its citizens as free.

The rational among us will onky hope that this "confession" gets the notice it needs to among all POC that still thihk that the current conservative republican party is pro civil rights and not connected with fascist/supremist/nationalist ideas. If one is bold enough to say it, many ithers are ok with with it behind closed doors. I still am in disbelief about how members of todays republican party have been recorded speaking at actual supreminist meetings. And still allowed in office.

...its what "defund the police was supposed to mean". It was really badly named and was all it took for others to make the misinformation go viral. It should have been called re-fund the police. Take the police budget and repurpoes some of it for additional training to candidates. No one loses their jobs. You now have folks trained when to use a gun and when not to use a gun. "Defund" was badly named.

@peepapeeps The difference is that when the commander in chief does things that are way beyond questionable a proper government would call the president on it. Its necessary to protect a democracy. Im glad you remember that. Now please tell me how that could be true and some of the "Trumplicans" are saying that the attack on the capitol was started by democrats, when on video they are saying that "their" president called them there. Hypocrisy? No! They dont want to take responsibility when things go wrong, only when things go their way do they celebrate. Sound familiar????????

Whats is extraordinarily motivational is that MAGA cultists and regular ole republicans are leaving the MAGA camp and willing to vote for Harris/ a democrat. The common theme is that they are overtired of the lying and disrespect for American and sometimes christian - real christian - values. Amazing as we know that changing direction like this isnt easy.

Considering the major push-back he would get from the confederates - one that assassinated him, its still worthy of notice for something that was for all people and not continually subjugate a minority. I am going to save this quote as another piece of the puzzle so thanx.

@seanscanlon9067 I also wonder how when someone that is prone to violence and says one thing, what happens when that one thing doesnt turn out as he expected. What happens when the answers he gets gets into a tug of war and he feels a need to do worse. Its how some folks get seen running wind up with a bullet in their backs. No gun there but the actions are the same. Escalating broken knee caps.

@boredblonde2 NO! The old white guys would have a meeting and wonder how he got in. White wife or not. They stay the same, its only because of laws that prohibit his expulsion that the national golf association must follow is why they play along. When they go home they try to figure out of there is a way to get "That old colored boy" off the greens. They are only ok - for now - because the laws say they must allow it.

No. Its not "The US". Its folks that live here and manage to get their racist convictions supported by the dumb and blind folks that dont take the time to think about what was said. There is most definitely a group of folks that had they thought about it would come to the same conclusion but many more would stop and think : wait a minute. Isnt what im doing exactly what they said was going on? I guess some change is needed. I dont want my children to live in a society that is based on lies and subversion of real truths. History has shown that the longer that these truths are suppressed the larger the response when vindicated. Its easier to allow an easy transition from a propaganda of lies than to hold off as long as possible. Political uprisings have happened before in America, but not yet the full exposure of Americas racist holdouts. We have folks that carry Confederate flags and say the US should go back to that past and also folks that say no way. That slave filled past is gone and we should keep moving away from it. I bet you can guess what side the "sicker" US is on.
