....IMHO, its not the firing its about the way it was done. If you fire an employee but threaten, it can be considered assault. Using words to elicit fear. Extreme, but it can be possible. So the manager was also fired because it placed a bad look to the head office. So it "was" wrong.

@MrPGC137 . No I dont, but its very rare that a mother and her children, one filming would be attacking her boss. I saw the fuller version, but I get the feeling that you are going to get behind the manager no matter what happened. I stated that the woman was unprofessional, you seem to take that as a manager can act anyway they want to unprofessional or not. You come across as someone that normally would act as the manager since I said nothing so wrong that you would go to a level of "unprofessionalism'.

Sorry. if you see it that way, but its rarely confronting" if the video is showing what really happened" when someone is supporting their mother as confronting. I believe the issue that she was expecting a raise but hadn't gotten it yet. If asking when your raise is coming through is "confronting" ,then I know what you are speaking of. BTW, if you feel that me stating an opposing view as being a moron, then I can see why you cant see that there was a better way for things to be handled by both parties....and by firing the manager so did the higher up's. My point.

@MrPGC137 My point is is that it could have been handled better. All the manager had to do was say "NOT NOW". This is a private matter, and we are speaking in public. Instead of getting angry and letting anger fly. If they would have persisted, then I would have been on the managers side. Poor management skills can be just as bad as an employee not understanding the boundaries when asking for a raise. I feel that they just didnt understand that this was the wrong way to do this, and folks got triggered.

I can only go by the video that I have seen and the things said including the aftermath interviews of the family at home. It still seems to me, that things got out of control when calmer heads would have done better. Cant speak for guys that have worked where this behavior is seen regularly. Its the first time that I have heard of someone getting fired because they asked at an inappropriate time and place. Employees get fired all the time, just rarely do the get fired when just recently their performance justified them getting a raise. What happened between getting a leg up and soon afterwards fired? Makes me see that something got out of control on both sides. Two wrongs dont make a right. Both sides had issues. Its just that bad language can make a small matter escalate to somewhere unintended. Im always on the side of patience and not quick to judge....... and I know that everyone can have a bad day and this situation was not a normal one.
