  1. Europe and especially Germany were far too dependent on Russia for natural gas, oil and coal. Europe should have ramped up locally produced wind and solar energy combined with battery storage. Now they need to provide incentives for home owners and businesses to install electric heat pumps and replace gas or oil boilers. They also need to ramp up incentives for all electric vehicles. Russia can not be trusted. Buying fossil fuels from Russia pays for their war machine.
