River systems flow to sea. Sure seems like using a river system would be a way to capture that flowing energy without the cost and disruption to wild life and the ecosystem that a dam would cause. This would also make it available to more countries that do not have coast lines on the sea. This would not be tidal power but it seem that the equipment could be adapted to use in these cases expanding their possible use case and increasing their economies of scale.

What will it take for businesses and governments to ramp up renewable energy generation. The shift to renewables has been too slow. Around the world we are seeing droughts, floods, fires and extreme temperatures impacting people, farming areas NOW. Europe, Germany and the rest of the world have been too slow to transition to wind and solar energy and all electric vehicles. Wind, solar energy. geothermal and tidal do not need to be imported and can be produced locally in many countries. Europe needs to provide incentives for homes and businesses to install electric heat pumps and get rid of old polluting gas and oil boilers. The move to electric vehicles will also be sped up. There is no good reason to help fund Putin's war by buying oil, gas and coal from Russia.

Rising sea levels will need to be considered for any development along the coast in the future. Climate Change and rising sea levels will make coastal properties and low lying areas impossible to sell or insure. Banks and insurance companies will not want to take the risk in the future. People will not be able to sell coastal properties if no one can get a loan or insurance. Migration will move people away from coastal and low lying areas. Covid deniers and climate change deniers are the same. Both do not believe in science and experts. People are selfish and don't want to be bothered with restrictions. The cost to the economy and individuals will be huge.We need Climate Action NOW.
