The world has been turned upside down for the past three years with the virus, lock downs, interrupted health care and supply chain problems. People have delayed or not been to the doctor to address their health concerns. Hospitals rationed care to the sickest of patients. Surgeries and other care has been delayed or not done at all. . All these factors have led to reduced care for serious illness and increased mortality. People sat at home, did not get their medications refilled because they were afraid to go to the doctors office. People over ate, exercised less, had increased stress levels and poor sleep habits. Many people lost their jobs and income leading to increased stress levels and lower immune systems. There are so many reasons for excess deaths without having to embrace conspiracy theories.
