  1. Sure seems like some local people could start companies and rehab whole blocks of homes. Buy a whole block so that there are neighbors looking out for each other. Then rehab one home at a time. It would provide jobs and training in the trades for local youth. The country needs more plumbers, electricians, brick layers and carpenters. Find local people that want to put in sweat equity into homes and neighborhoods and help them buy a home.
