Ive seen slow patching up of wholes at the cost of increased jade, cynicism, and corruption at least in Central Ohio. We know of our old problems but are willing to sacrifice far to much to solve them, for exsample a city council near where I lived johnstown oh had a corruption scandal of bribery and "a few housing relocations" to bring a intel plant there which caused alot of local chaos simply to stop the new albany brain drain. The same thing happened in dublin Marysville. And Columbus Heroin deaths still are the bud of jokes.

My dad is from new orleans and Ive vistied quite a few times the gulf coast of louisiana has a weird thing where french are viewed as super cool and in some ways the social elites there "french quarter" of the city is the wealthiest as well but it still is far more southern with huge southern influence compaired to the rest of cajun area.
