  1. ​​​ @PsilentMusicUK  yeah the reason it was better than the modern russian system is because the soviet system kept itself isolated from global competition that it couldnt handle. The second it opened itself up you saw massive capital flight alongside skilled labor flight and flight of about 30 other very important things to more competive sectors resulting in a ecconomic crisis russia probably will never recover from. And its not just russia, Belarus has done very little ecconomic reforms and pretty much still uses large parts the old centralized soviet system in all but name to the point of haveing the nickname "the last soviet ecconomy" and its even poorer than modern russia atm. Let alone a place like Lithuania.
