Probably due to him not being sure what effects it would have on ocean currents This easily could mean the austronesians dont colonise at all or they manage to colonise the future inca empire. Plus Im not even sure the austronesians would have the time to get off of taiwan before Sinozisation hits since well strait of tiwan opening up.

@MrCrunch808 . . . Tell that to the Russians and Canadians oh and argentine and chilean pategonians. Also for all we know the increase in water evaporation from a warmer climate could result in a green sahara yes thats a real theory. What will it kill coasts,the outback,small islands,tropics,etc.

Im aware the islands dont have a effect on ocean currents I was talking more so about closing of straits and changing water temp. Stuff like the closing of the english channel or strait of tsushima. This could have a big effect and no Im not just talking about the entire austronesian family potentially being sinosized since well taiwan is connected to mainland asia.

@ANTSEMUT1 the strait of taiwan closed off so its conected to the mainland Plus due to the climate being colder the subtropic parts of china the last place to be sinozized other than manchuria would be much closer to the north han heartland.

yeah overall If he were to talk about somthing like that he would have to talk about all of it Similar reason to why few people talk about the effect global warming results in global greening its no much to talk about on a region by region basis which you have to do.

@earthly2387 it takes ages for the water levels to rise anyway. Plus I'm not talking about full blown zelandia including new Caledonia I'm just talking about a slightly larger and connected New Zealand.

@ANTSEMUT1 okay same land corridor part applys to taiwan without the strait. Even if it would be alot less times getting invaided than vietnam I doubt they would be nearly as good at fighting the chinese so I would think it would only take one potentially 2 times for china to conquer tiawan. Plus well not a jungle that makes it easy as well.

GNnisa orobo yeah I mean at this point it's not the native austronesians that need to worry it's the Zhang,and south han settlers. So it's "different Taiwanese" that are going to need to escape but your point holds up.

@mpetersen6 it wouldnt take much longer than it took kuwait to become habitable after silt from the 2 rivers pilling up so I dont think it should take much longer than that.

If I knew how to add land provinces onto sea tiles I would make that mod in victoria 2 the paradox game Im best at moding. But since Im not even sure that possible in victoria 2 Im not even going to try. Im aware you can do that in HOI 4 since well TNO and atlantropa mods exsist that have a smaller med but I have no clue how to do that. Edit plus I have no idea what to do with the effects just going to use polynesia as a exsample would the lower sea levels allow them to have a higher population on small islands they colonised or would the colder weather make it harder to grow crops? Would the colder weather have any effect on ocean currents? If so would they even reach said islands? Thats just polynisia dont even get me started on indonesia which would be conected to land.

@Rivenburg-xd5yf I'm aware I was talking about a theory that global warming will bring it back due to extra water evaporation leading to extra rain bringing a somewhat more green Sahara back. Not to that extent though.
