@Tigerman writer I was impressed with the authenticity of M&C it was a closer representation of a sailors life and showed the Captain and officers were not that different from the crew in what they believed especially superstition or how they acted.

@waynemongo Most of those were short campaigns and Germany had no heavy bombers certainly not thousands like Britain and America a few days not months or years. The Brits actually had very few killed during the Blitz as they like to call it name an unarmed city where they burned 100,000 people alive in a single night. You start to see the magnitude of the crime and why they went totally silent on Bomber command at wars end.

What I pointed out long ago even if the shell explodes at altitude the fragments rain back down if it does not explode the shell comes back down intact. If they get lucky they bring an aircraft down 😕 with all its fuel and bombs.

Not all shells detonate in WW1 the failure rate British Shells was a scandal. Remember all that fragmentation falls back to earth sometimes bringing fuel and bombs with it.
