  7. If the Chamber end is worn out especially the throat putting that at the pointy end would totally destroy accuracy dumbest idea ever. Fluting the barrel would do more. PS anyone who has ever carried a BREN can tell you that barrel nut was its downfall easily knocked to the unlocked position where your barrel repeatedly falls to the ground as for mag fed it should never have stayed in service so long out of date before WW2 started. No fore end to hold and a lousy carry handle only in England 😜

The US Military stepped in made mods especially with powder it was always designed to use cordite. Fouling Rust no cleaning kits and the myth it never needed to be cleaned. Was the Problem. Several documents from the US Military such as an army out gunned and recent news in Afghanistan SAW US troops killed as weapons failed due to fouling and heat. My favourite Taliban shot 7 or 8 times jumps wall shot 7 mote times killed a medic dropped by a 45. The US Military admits 5.56 is combat ineffective past 200m and little use below that. I recommend The Black Rifle one and Two for a full history of the AR ( Not designed by Eugene Stoner and neither was the cartridge) US Military Review An Army Out gunned plus Taking back the Infantry Half Click also New 5.56 Ammo Required. Eye popping reading within. The AR was supposed to be temporary till a new design its still around there are hundreds of combat reports of people being shot and walking away.
