  212. In regards to parents fighting at sports event, they should be held accountable for their actions. If they commit an assault arrest them. If it's verbal abuse ban them from attendance. As for the man on the plane complaining about the screaming baby. HE IS RIGHT. He should not have to deal with someone else's child for any reason. If the baby is screaming on the plane remove the parent and baby. I know I will catch flak for this statement but I also will not stay silent on an issue which should not be normalized. If you are a parent of a young child and decide to get on a plane and that child causes a disturbance, regardless of age, then you should be cited at the arrival airport for disturbing the peace. I don't care who you are, your need to have children and leave a mark on the world does not give you the right to disturb my peace and I for one would not have been silent about it either. I have no responsibility to tolerate your screaming infant for any reason whatsoever. I don't care if it doesn't feel good, I don't care if it can't control itself, and I don't care if you can't calm it down. That's your problem as the parent not mine. If it becomes my problem you better believe I am gonna be in your face about it. This man's reaction was not unacceptable. As a matter of fact this should be the normal reaction. If you as the parent of an infant child are not smart enough to know that screaming kids on planes is not acceptable and should never be allowed to become normalized then that explains a lot about why the world is so messed up. When I was an infant my parents had enough sense to NOT GET ON AN AIRPLANE WITH 200+ PEOPLE WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE FACT ITS AN INFANT. It is not my infant so don't expect me to be tolerant. If my child was screaming on an airplane I would have the decency to get off the plane so as not to burden other passengers with my problems.Airlines need to do more to accommodate passengers without children like offering commuter flights that do not allow children aboard. Being a parent is not a pass card for making others tolerate your kid. Shame on you, the hosts for throwing shade on a man with a justifiable complaint and pushing the idea that people should just accept this type of thing. No we should NOT ever accept this type of thing. As a matter of fact you as the parents have the responsabilty to make better decisions about travel when you have small children because nobody else should have to deal with your issues period. 243. Gun Free Zones just make the people in them more of a target for anyone who wants to commit a violent crime. The reason most criminals are so brazen is because they have the mindset that the people are unarmed, which is mostly true in Michigan with it's ridiculous blue politics. The answer is not gun control, it is allowing for everyone to possess a gun if they wish to. Those who commit crimes don't give a flip about your Gun Free Zones. On the contrary when they see a Gun Free Zone they know they can commit violent crimes without fear of being stopped by the people around them. It is also a reason people do not help others being assaulted, because they cannot meet or exceed the level of violence being committed without becoming a victim themselves. Funny that when a violent crime is committed people expect Law Enforcement Officials WITH GUNS to come save the day. Why should I not have the right to save my own life? The badge doesn't make an officers life or judgment any more or less valid then mine. An armed society is a polite society because if you act the fool, granny on the bus may be able to stop the person beating on and robbing another person instead of just taking video of it. These talking heads make me sick with their lack of perception.( Added content) Look at Chicago... Heavy gun regulations, high crime rates. Gun Laws and Gun Free Zones are not helping the people who are victims. They are only enabling the criminals who do not care about the rule of law anyhow. There was at least one level headed speaker in this group. If this is even considered then I would suggest that if anyone is a victim of a violent crime within this type of zone, or losses their life due to a violent crime in such a zone, that the lawmakers and officials who put the Zones in practice are charged as accessories to any crime committed in said Zones and are held equally accountable if not more so then the person or persons who committed the crime because they directly contributed to the victims inability to defend themselves. That in and of itself is a crime. This is not about the color of a person's skin, or their religion, political values or gender orientation. It is a question of whether or not each and every living breathing soul on Planet Earth has the ability to defend their right to survive should the need arise. It is better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

  251. While I cannot speak for the other two in this video, I can speak for myself. I will say that my concerns are for everyone living the lifestyle or thinking about it. Young or old, male or female, there are very real and present dangers in this lifestyle. It is romanticized so much these days and so often the reality of it is obscured with the idea of freedom, isolation, affordability, adventure, excitement, happiness and joy. While it can be those things and usually is, anyone can make a serious mistake, or have a major issue out here, mechanical, medical, wildlife encounter, what have you. Also as mentioned it is not like being at home. At home you do not have to pack up and/or hook up the house and drive it to a dump station and water refill station every few days, then take it back and set it up again. That can be very physically demanding for some. In Quartzsite there is the safety of numbers. On the road is another aspect unless you have travel with a caravan group. The three of us have women friends who do this without issue, and there are some we have concerns about. While I cannot claim to have the same view on other issues discussed, in the matter of"full time living", especially "in a car", which was our main concern, I would rather voice my concern, and be wrong, then be right and be silent, if that makes any sense. Also it is good that you share your side as well, so thank you for being honest. It is perfectly acceptable to have different points of view. As you pointed out there is so much to the nomadic lifestyle to be covered. This is just a small portion of it as you also pointed out and would require a lengthy series to fully explore. Yes, it can be done, but please be aware that it can also be dangerous and cars in particular are not well suited for the task of full time living. I would be a interested to see an aired interview with a senior who has been living in a car for more then a season or two. I have seen interviews with seniors who are just staring out with their car or have one or two seasons in Quartzsite under their belt, so sure they are still excited and enthusiastic when interviewed. Same as I was for the bus. There exists the possibility if I were interviewed again in a year or two I would not be so enthusiastic about the bus, or even the lifestyle. I spent a few seasons in a car myself and have gradually stepped up to the vehicle that suits my needs so I have firsthand knowledge of what it is like, and have deeply rooted experiences that form my opinion on that subject of the dangers that face everyone in the nomadic community, whether they acknowledge them or not, most of which are medically based concerns and some of which are personal safety concerns. God bless.

  274. How can you call it "testing" when there is only one or two vehicles capable of interacting with this system in the area. Unless you provide compatible vehicles at No Cost to every driver in the test area this "test" is pointless and will prove absolutely nothing. Of course the reporter is driving carefully during filming and making it seem all high tech and effective but the reality is this is one car under highly controlled circumstances. Drivers do not act this way when they think they are not being observed by any type of authority figure and you cannot make them purchase the necessary equipment to be able to interact with this system while you conduct this "testing". If alerts and warnings worked people wouldn't exceed posted speed limits or run stop signs and red lights. Nobody cares if a computer voice tells them a bus is ahead and most people who do this are not unaware of the rules, they just don't care as long as they think no law enforcement officers are present at the time of the offense. This won't stop or reduce any of these type of events. How about focus on installing better cameras on buses that can capture the license plate of offenders. Impose mandatory license suspensions of 30-90 days as well as heavy fines or even jail time of no more than 15 days for first time offenders, with remedial driving classes required before they can reinstate their driving privileges. In addition impose mandatory license revocation of two years or more with jail time of up to six months or more for repeat offenders. Put these in new cars if you want but I still do not think people who do this will care one bit about the warnings unless there are very clear and enforced consequences for such actions. Just my opinion.

  588. Just gonna come right out and say it, the man is right. If you are a parent of a young child and you get on a plane with 200+ other people and it throws a fit perhaps y'all dumbasses should get a citation for disturbing the peace. I don't give two flips about your spawn not being able to control itself. Quite the contrary as a responsible parent maybe don't get on a freaking airplane with a bunch of people who are not responsible for your baby. We don't want to hear it, we don't care if it doesn't feel well We don't care if you can't calm it down. Your need to procreate and leave a mark on the world does not give you the right to disturb my peace. And before y'all say oh you were a baby once too, yes that's true, the difference being that my parents knew better then to get on a fucking airplane. These parents are getting out of control. I will not look the other way and allow a precedent to be set that your baby is allowed to scream its head off on a airplane. Rent a car and drive your ass cross country instead of just assuming people are gonna be silent about it. This man has every right to complain and while I do not agree with the non black baby statement I will apply this to all babies. Keep y'all's babies off airplanes. Either that or pay for my ticket because it's your kid not mine. Nobody should think taking a baby on a plane is OK. It is not. You can throw shade at me if you want but I don't mind the heat when it's a valid point. Your kid your problem, if it becomes my problem I am gonna become your problem. (Edited for spelling)

  626.  @lloydbrown9327  The possibility of being robbed is something that could happen anywhere. In my opinion I do not think that participating in this lifestyle increases that risk significantly in any way. Using the same common sense security measures you use at home, like securing easy to carry items, locking doors when not in camp and chaining up generators usually prevent this type of activity. There have been reports of items going missing in the later part of the season as people leave but I cannot verify the truth of such claims and I don't believe you are going to held up or mugged by anyone out here in Quartzsite. Of course be aware of your surroundings when travelling and camping, but overall the chances are not any more or less then they are now. I personally had only one encounter with someone trying to steal from my rig. I was at a Walmart parking lot for an overnight stay and resupply. I carried a large 6000 watt generator on a rear hitch rack at that time. It was double chained to the frame for security as well. In the middle of the night I felt the rig shaking slightly and the dog went nuts. When I looked out the window this guy was trying to pull the generator off the rack. He probably thought the rig was unattended. He took off when the dog barked. Not sure how he planned to carry that massive thing but oh well. I have not had any theft or attempted theft issues since then though. Someone else may have other opinions but that at least is mine. Good luck on your journey should you decide to take the trip. God bless.

  765. Please keep in mind that this was a singular point of view about that subject. It's not all encompassing. In an attempt to add insight with my own perspective if I may, there are unspoken rules amongst many of the Nomads regarding generators. It is learned by experience or occasionally by someone just saying it as I am doing here. We don't expect everyone to understand everything first day out. We usually sit and laugh about it and remember our own days as one of those people, because most of us were and or still are just like that. All we generally ask is that if you have one of the loud generators take that into account when deciding how close to park to your neighbors WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Also areas within 500 feet of the Vault toilets are generally looked upon as "QUIET ZONES" as it is frequented or is intended to be frequented by people camping in tents or cars or busses or ambulances that do not use generators or have onboard facilities. If you have a self contained rig please use the areas farther out so people without can have access to the facilities they paid for. Now that being said once you arrive and have been there overnight, if someone comes and gets close and complains about the generator, well you were there first, they can move, or if you are a cool cat and don't mind seeking a different view you can move. I don't think any of us actual nomads would ever walk into a camp and complain about a generator unless you put the thing right next to my pillow and I am in a tent. Also I think the comment about getting the bus was a subtle poke at me and my bus and becoming part of a trend, as I had upgraded myself not long prior to this filming. It's all in good humor that's all. God bless.
