  1. Price is no guarantee of quality. I have seen some expensive stuff that was absolute garbage. Cheaper stuff that was surprisingly great. Like you said, you just have to some research and make the best choice you can. With the V8 Supercars they had a Hollinger gearbox and you didn't have to use the clutch when changing gear. I don't know if they still use them.
