  1. I am Australian and I use words interchangeably. Sometimes I call it a boot and sometimes a trunk. Sometimes I say bonnet and sometimes hood. It does not matter as long as people know what you are referring to. The vast majority do. In Australia a "singlet" is usually a cotton sleeveless top worn under a shirt. The same garment made out of T shirt material, usually worn like a T-shirt is called a tank top.
