Wow, quadratic equations do really get me mad here in Germany! 10th grade pupils have to practice all sorts of quadratic bullshit in extenso, like computing intersections with axes, other parabolae or straight lines, shifting graphs, interchanging different forms of quadratic equations, determining vertex positions... none of which has any application in real life. Literally: ANY. However, strangely enough, nobody questions all this!! Everybody goes like: "well, i also had to do that in my earlier days -- no way i should have tortured myself in vain! And... even if i did, these kids of today deserve no better" ;) Sadly, 95% of pupils would never have heard about the facts explained in this video.
