So true! But my hope is that the resulting inequality caused by AI will be so absurd that this time there's no way around distributing wealth.

Sounds like a logical development. But then comes the critical point, imo: Will we stay within the old system with few almost almighty companies, or come to a more reasonable solution where all this is put in the hands of the public?

@OscarTheStrategist I agree we don't steer the ship "AI development", but we still can take part in steering the formation of informed public opinion on the matter, which will in turn (at least in a minute way, depending on the political system you live in) affect policy making.

That's certainly a part of it. Another one, however, is that we can still take part. The more smart people in there, the more difficult to control the narrative.
