Well, is it surprising Google is hyping its product? But I guess as an expert in the field, you know the newer models are not pure LLMs any more? And what exactly do you define as "making new things"? Was "move 37" new? A lot of Go experts certainly thought so. And is alpha fold making new discoveries? Certainly lots of people think so, again. Which human ideas are "new" in your sense anyhow? Seems kind of stiff to claim uniqueness to human brains, when there is little evidence so far that other turing machines should be doing worse in principle.
