Instead of donating the money to the temple. For auspicious occasions people can go spend it at orphanages or old age homes. That would benefit much more to society.

@aadithyanc.koccupyandcolon6792 it's not just devotee. For any person it's their wish what they wanna do with their money obviously. That was just a suggestion for money being better spent. No, most dosent go to food donations, a part of it goes to it. Rest stays in temple trust and is lost in a large amounts of corruption, where middle men managing the temple and other contractors end up getting it. That's a fact, why I said instead of hoping the temple will do good for society, you do it yourself. Go pray there and then go to the orphanages and old age homes and give them the things they need. Never give money, instead ask what do they need, buy that and give. You reduce the possibility of money being misutilised.
