WHY is the old communist buildings being concrete blocks even relevant??? The reason why the old city decayed was definitely because of intentional state disinvestment not because they looked "ugly", the state WAITED for the city to decay and for the marginalised groups there to fend on their own with no support from the state....so that the town eventually collapses, the land becomes VERY cheap and the mayor was like "oh no....let me save this city from the darkness". How convenient is that? The project was good, and provided a sustainable mixed use and walkable society. THIS is why it was successful, the buildings looking like century old buildings isn't THE reason, because beauty CAN be achieved with contemporary styles that aren't cheap carbon copies of classical buildings. That's what i absolutely hate about this channel. It's sugarcoating everything that is built in a classical style and shitting on everything that looks boxy and from the modernist era, which by the way doesn't even exist any more. Modern contemporary looking cites CAN ALSO be beautiful, walkable, and sustainable. And i dare you to make a video about cities like these like in Vienna, which is one of the most livable cities, with very affordable social housing, mixed use sustainable communities yet don't look classical and nostalgic just for the sake of it. But I'm pretty sure you'll never make it because you're too stuck in the past. Styles like these being built today prevent architectural innovations. It would be MUCH better if these towns were INSPIRED by the old classical styles, not just copy and paste, that way these buildings can stand the test of time and aren't problematic in maintaining them.

@Quesbe exactly, and many contemporary architecture has curves, arches and other classical beauty elements too. But apparently this channel is too stuck in the past and rejects technology and advancement

Why aren't 15 minute cities the norm??? Wouldn't you like to have all the basic daily needs and services at 15 minute walk reach??? How is that not something attractive??

As if there wasn't TOO many successful implementations? Because that's what you're claiming....like i said you're only making things worse and contributing nothing to the solution

@cabane5347 that's literally the problem here, this new classical city is an extremist far right reaction to an extremist far left action. WHY tf can't we come up with something in the middle?? A city that isn't a cheap carbon copy of buildings from 400 years ago that are only accessible by people with lots of money....or is beauty only available for the rich?? Look all around the world for affordable social housing (in capitalistic nations, don't worry lol), they're affordable, walkable, and have contemporary facades that are still very beautiful....not boring grey concrete walls NOR over decorated classical motifs that hold zero function or actual value. Extremism needs to STOP in both directions not just in the left.

@HighFlyingOwlOfMinerva France is the last country on earth to talk about immigrants when they've been colonising every nation in existence. It doesn't matter what your bigoted ass thinks, there were people LIVING there, they were treated poorly and they were forcibly evicted after the state let the town deteriorate just to build a toy house looking city for the rich and/or white. This is anything but a beautiful city

@newtonia-uo4889 elevated who's people's lives exactly? When the original residents were evicted and had to move somewhere else....call it what it is, gentrification. Gentrification DOES improve the quality of a certain area and makes more livable and contributing tp society but at the expense of the less fortunate. And by the way towns like these wouldn't have been at such a bad state if the government didn't just let it deteriorate with no maintenance. This is their plan, to make an already struggling place struggle harder with zero support, so that it turns into a dumpster so the government has an excuse to demolish it and build a pretty Disney land for more fortunate people. There is SO MUCH behind deteriorating cities turning into beautiful places.
