  3. Getting off Track, when I was in the US Navy in the 70s/80s, we used Day/Month/Year or the Julian Date. And Armistice/Remembrance/Veterans Day recalls the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month of 1918. So yeah, why the USA uses Month First for Record Keeping is Strange.
