DeSantis actually really struck a blow to Disney. LegalMindset has been doing a series on it but Disney is now facing about a billion dollars in fines and back taxes to Florida (at least) and possible criminal charges for many of the board memebers as they were essentially laundering tax money through their special district and knowingly talked about it through email because they never expected their special district to be repealed. One example is they were buying all district employees Disney premium passes for their family, saying they needed it to do their work - however the district was using tax money to pay for the passes (and it included passes for people who didn’t work in the district and people who’s job would never include a visit to Disney for work). They also “discounted” all food, Disney cruises, Disney merch employees bought and refunded Disney again with tax money. Plus used 700million in taxes to pay for 3 Disney parking structures that are only used by Disney guests.
