  1. If it was a common occurrence in the US army it wouldn’t have been headline news like Lindy England. Abu Grabe would have been “just another thing” but obviously it stood out as something horrendous and out of the norm.

  2. I think a lot of this has been overblown. There have always been bad egg soldier, I’m sure things like this happen. But the army has a fairly strict policy today that if something like that happened (by a group of people especially) they’d all be tried and convicted. It isn’t a good ole boys club like it’s often portrayed.
