  1.  @thedoomslayer5863  i think it's very regional. I've seen plenty in the midwest who speak both Spanish and English and more or less integrate. I've seen interviews (they were being interviewed for something other than being a dreamer or anything political) who only spoke Spanish despite being in the country 20 years since they were infants. Some regions are just more accepting of the level of "integration".

  2. We have an entirely Spanish speaking public elementary school near me. They pitched it as an "immersion school" but it's the first language of all the students.

  3. He was saying DACA was one and done because it had never been "states outright". But it had. I think the majority of DACA recipients are probably normal second gen Hispanic Americans (or wherever their home country is). But the fact is that it was supposed to be a deterrent, and now saying "we won't punish your children" doesn't make it one. Plus if it happens once all illegal immigrants will think itll happen again...which means it will happen again.

  5. All dreamers should be accepted in return for their entire family being sent back...except for the people who were born here legally or have obtained legal citizenship/green card.

  6.  @skipperclinton1087  i honestly believe this might be ok. Yes you beed to be able to read and write English but many are much more comfortable making serious decisions in their own language because they better understand the context. I have a coworker who has lived in the US for 15 years (from. HK), has her citizenship (through marriage), refuses to talk to anyone outside her family in Mandarin, but still looks to translations for any contracts or important documents just so she knows the full context.   7. Integration should be a highway on ramp. When traffic is heavy you at least need a light to slowly let the cars on the road, letting them all go whenever just causes more of a back up
