  2. College towns get stung by this. I was told in 2008 it was “1 vote per county” and a DNC bus showed up for a “get out and vote rally” that went poll station to poll station. After the election i got 5-6 voter registration cards sent to my mailbox from people who registered day of, and were alumni of the school (everyone else did too). It’s pretty blatant and rampant but college kids don’t know who the voting commission is.

  3. This happened to my neighborhood back in 2006. Developer came in and wanted to build about 600 condos in a neighborhood meant for single family homes. The city planning council pushed it through, one of them was a real estate agent handling the condos. Community members found out, made him step down from the vote, but it still passed. It was one of the hardest fought campaigns and ended up costing half the council their jobs because there was bad press around it. It caused the homes directly next to the condos to lose almost 100k in value, they sued the city and got some of that back (mostly for trees to make the property have privacy from the condos). Now 14 years later, the 2 condo buildings they were going to build they only build 1 -foundation is poured for the other but they lost funding, and the building has never had more than 50% of the condos sold. They’re trying to change it to section 8 or apartments, but because the neighborhood fought so hard in the beginning, the council knows better.
