  2. Water temps this year are really high - higher than expected which they were already expected to be high. Doesn’t mean it isn’t increased solar activity. I think it’s more that our ability to track the wind speeds now is far superior than it was in 1920 when these were first tracked. Somehow I think flying a plane through the eye of the storm every couple hours to get max wind speed to up grade it would give you higher wind speeds than looking at the damage and estimating it after the fact or finding wind speeds on the island closest to where you think the eye was.

  3. The sea temps are high for this time of year and humidity is also super high which is why it gained strength so quick. But it barely passed over the cat5 level when they’re flying planes through to measure highest wind speeds near the eye of the storm. It likely won’t build to much more since it will be passing over many islands and the Yucatán.

  4. All the tornados this year had people screaming about the worst weather - but it still wasn’t close to the most outbreaks or strongest tornados. That was 11 years ago - almost like there are some sort of cycles that influence storm strength. 🤔

  5. No way this goes up the east cost. That’s not in any storm prediction. Furthest east might be Louisiana/mississippi and although unlikely it is possible.
