In what’s been released it’s clear there was no grooming. This wasn’t their first target and she specifically chose it because she knew they didn’t have armed security (her first target was a large mall but they have armed security) and she knew the layout. It’s clear from what’s been leaked it was simply that she knew the location layout and security procedures so she thought she could get further. It was a calculated decision not revenge. If the docs hadn’t been leaked people would have assumed like you and put fault on the school (not on the NPD who should have seen this coming a mile away).

The copyright claim is the Nashville PD one last desperate attempt at keeping this sealed. It’s already being appealed and there is no way it actually stands. They’re claiming it’s a unique important work so it has copyright (something that has never been granted to any other manifesto) but also that it is a work that is not important so it doesn’t need to be released to the public via FOIA. There is no way it holds but NPD is creative I’ll give them that. They’re literally jailing the journalists for protecting the sources of the leakers.

This isn’t going to stand. There’s no legal precedent for it and their claim is contradictory.

Styx, read up on what’s been released. There was no grooming. She literally said she just hated Christian’s and knew there wasn’t security. This wasn’t her first target and said it was picked because she knew the layout and could get further.

Crowder released a handful of pages last fall. A local journal has gotten almost all of the manifesto and published the gist of it but the journalist was jailed for it.

The estate owned the copyright and as a “settlement” the parents who were guardians of the estate signed the copyright over to the families because NPD knew the parents wouldn’t unanimously want it released.

@nickkoyle3599 it also doesn’t cover nearly what people think it does. For instance you can make your own copy of a board game to copy the board game idea entirely as long as the art assets are different because those are what are protected.

The police claimed that the writings were of no interest so they couldn’t be FOIAd but at the same time they were important so it’s covered by copyright law. They wrote themselves into a contradictory corner that’s not gonna hold, especially because you’re going against freedom of speech and it could go to SCOTUS.

Yup. No grooming. Had been telling everyone what was going to happen, and they did it because of hatred to Christians specifically rich straight white ones.

@evandoyle2385 no. NPD was incompetent and probably had it reported to them (Vanderbilt may have sent them reports and they ignored it). In 2020 there was a guy who blew up a RV in down town Nashville injuring several. He had been reported to the FBI and NPD and been told exactly what he was doing but NPD didn’t listen and FBI investigated and found “nothing” despite in retrospect him having his entire purchase history in weeks leading up to it being of explosives and materials for the event as well as signing over all his property etc. That one the FBI swooped in to cover up and they said he was a conspiracy theorist so they didn’t need to release any writings. Because the damage was to property people let it go rather than wanting his writings released. They probably thought this would go the same way.
