  1. My grandma was as well. She loved her family but was always fiercely independent and taught her daughter and I to never rely on a husband. It ended up being good advice not because we got divorced but because it made us get good jobs and have a good education that could support ours families when we needed it. She would cry because my daughter asked for a baby and broom for Xmas.
