  3. Benedict Arnold may be another fun one, if just for what he did at Lake Champlain alone. He convinced the entire British navy it was a good idea to bring a bunch of big naval vessels inland to fight on a lake. He just built a bunch of crappy boats he could easily sink when he knew they’d be defeated. Ended up really being a blunder for the English Navy especially when they couldn’t capture the American flag since he put it on a really tall tree.
