  1. I went to a story time with my 2 year old. She sat quietly and listened through the whole story. The dozens of other kids (most slightly older) couldn’t sit still and many ended up watching something on their parents phones. Parents were disengaged from the story rather than being present. My husband was listening to a podcast but he didn’t let her know and would ask her questions about what was happening. Parents disengaged so quickly and resorted to TV to keep young kids entertained because it’s easy. Our kid watched TV but only at grandparents homes because my husband and I hate to fight taking it away so we just never give it to her. So many tools out there to “help” parents, end up not helping and just being crutches
