You buy a house for what you think it’s worth, the bank gives you a mortgage because they agree with that worth, then you pay off your mortgage plus interest and the state says you owe more because the house is now worth more.

@HesderOleh the bank did their own assessment. It’s on the bank if they did a shit assessment. If you’ve ever built a house the first rule is not to take your developers word on it.

Let’s say you bought a house for 40k in 1950 and today it’s worth 500k. You sell it and the government says that it’s fraud so you need to turn over 460k of the value ignoring inflation can occur.

@Deatheater4444 I keep hearing this but but makes no sense. By paying the fine you’re accepting the ruling and charge as being acceptable or that you actually have the cash to do so, so you can’t appeal on the grounds that the money doesn’t exist/is not available, and you can’t appeal that it’s a wrongful judgement.

Glad the judge isn’t paid by the city or anything.

@HesderOleh and that was publicly available information that the bank could have disputed during their process. This is why banks require homes to be appraised before selling. If you buy a home for 100k right across the street from where you live, because the listing says theirs a pool and you get there and there isn’t a pool that’s on you for not taking 5 minutes on a Google earth search or driving down the road to see the property. In one of the “fraudulent” claims you could literally find the answer on Wikipedia. It’s likely that the claim either came from the initial plans that were later modified or were mistakes when the contract was written.

What you mean extending the definition of assault and the statute of limitations to meet exactly one included case isn’t normal?

But does it violate the third amendment? I’m really hoping Joe can get all of them in.

Did they take in to consideration inflation? Cause I just realized my home value with inflation had gone up by 60k in the last 2 years. It just sounds like he didn’t take into consideration inflation.

@slewone4905 pretty sure the state would owe him a lot of money if that was the case.

@HarryF-tz5fo correct. Not everyone gets a speeding ticket. However it’s supposed to be applied relatively equally and not with such bias.

Something about mother dogs eating it to regain strength. They actually make it into pills you can take.

This mostly applies to criminal cases. Domestic violence where a victim doesn’t want to press charges, the charges are against a minor or in murder charges (why it’s always state v person) because there is no victim to bring the charges the state does it on their behalf. It’s more rare to see in a civil trial.
