While living in Milwaukee, I had someone scream at me “I’m gonna ki** all you white people, I’m gonna go get my gun so I can get all you crackers” etc. He screamed in my face about a foot away from me for a few minutes before I could finally get away from him (he was following me around). When I finally got away from him a bunch of workers who were near by ran over to me and asked if I was okay. They said “sorry, we wish we could do something, but…ya know”. They were all young white guys and were terrified they’d be fired if they helped rescue a 28 year old woman (I looked about 20). The guy was well known in the neighborhood and had done the same to many of my neighbors. He never was arrested for it so I assume he’s still around.
