  1. A couple years ago when there was a baby formula shortage our local stores only would sell to people on food stamps (there was a limit if you weren’t). So people with food stamps would go and buy up the entire supply, then sell it on Facebook marketplace where people would be forced to pay 2x-3x for the formula and they’d make a nice profit. We don’t have Facebook so we had to drive over an hour to find formula for our daughter (by necessity not choice btw. Would have loved to avoid that expense).
