Pirates went woke when Elizabeth passed out while wearing a corset because it was to tight. This is historically inaccurate. Whale bone corsets were about as flexible as thick table ties (modern boning is about the same) but was very brittle so if you over tightened it would break instantly. Steal boning was where women would start to pass out because it was to tight, but that's why they had training corsets and lowered how many bones the corset would have so there was less support for the much stronger boning. This is something feminists love to show how "women were forced to pass out in the name of beauty". Simply isn't the case. It would have been as flexible as a wedding dress or cheap corset you get at a Victoria secret.
